The software license is $0 for qualified public health laboratories. Maintenance and support is a flat $7,500 per year. Hosting starts at a $15,000 per year minimum and moves with your actual specimen volume and cloud cost, so a laboratory starts at $22,500 per year in total. Figures are per public health laboratory, payable to Global Hands, Inc.

$15,000 hosting plus $7,500 maintenance and support is $22,500 for the first year, with no setup fee and no license fee. Hosting above the $15,000 minimum reflects your own volume, so a larger laboratory pays more for hosting and the same flat $7,500 for maintenance and support.
Hosting is a trajectory rather than a fixed band. At the end of each quarter we review actual cloud cost and specimen volume and adjust the hosting figure from there, always starting from the $15,000 per year minimum. The goal is transparent cost recovery so Global Hands stays operational, not a surprise black box.
You may run Salus on your own Snowflake (Business Critical recommended). Maintenance and support at $7,500 per year still applies. Platform hosting for pure cloud rent may drop when BYO is validated; you pay Snowflake directly. Salus support does not replace your Snowflake contract.

That annual figure often falls under the discretionary or single-signer purchase threshold many state and county health agencies use for routine operational contracts. Thresholds vary by agency, so confirm yours with your procurement office.

Pay ahead for a grant period. Not forever.
ELC and PHIG money arrives in one- to five-year cycles. You may prepay the published hosting floor plus maintenance for 1 year or 3 years. This is cash in advance of cost, not a lifetime waiver. If actual cloud use exceeds the $15,000 floor, the quarterly true-up is still billed.

Global Hands can accept a restricted gift that funds shared security, vocabulary, Conrad, and the community registry. It cannot promise perpetual Snowflake, backups, AI inference, or a support engineer from a one-time check. A 501(c)(3) cannot give away capacity it still has to buy. Stewards still pay annual hosting and the $7,500 maintenance line, same as every other qualified laboratory.
Professional services & custom work.
Custom reports, enhancements, special integrations, and extra implementation are $125 per hour through an approved Global Hands integrator. Prepaid Professional Service Blocks expire twelve months from purchase unless otherwise agreed.
Blocks cover implementation, data migration, instrument integration, workflow configuration, AI enablement, staff training, validation, project management, go-live support, and custom development.
